Harborne House is a care scheme for to up to four women with learning disabilities and complex needs, providing round the clock care in a popular residential area of Birmingham.
With four individual bedrooms and shared facilities, residents have the opportunity to socialise and interact with each other and their local community, developing important life skills, independence and self-esteem.
Set in its own enclosed gardens and only a short walk from local shops and amenities, Harborne House provides a flexible level of support based on the needs and wishes of the individual. Individuals are encouraged and supported to make everyday choices and decisions in all aspects of their lives.

Getting a placement
Referrals can be made by Birmingham Council or by contacting the scheme directly. Admissions are planned with the resident and their family, carers and associated professionals. Information obtained helps to form an initial care and support plan, which is regularly reviewed and amended. Placements are funded by the Birmingham East and North PCT Joint Commissioners with an assessed contribution paid by each service user
High Trees is located in the popular, vibrant area of Harborne in Birmingham and gives the opportunity for up to five men with learning disabilities and complex needs to develop important life skills and independence in a supportive residential setting.
Individual bedrooms, shared facilities and a garden allow time for socialising and development as well as peace and privacy. With local shops and amenities just a short walk away, residents are also able to be active members of their community and learn a variety of life skills with support from friendly, dedicated staff. High Trees residents gain skills promoting independence and choice and crucially, increased self-esteem and confidence in themselves.

Ipstones Avenue is a care home located in a residential area of Stechford. It consists of a 5 large bedroom bungalow which provides accommodation for five customers between ages 40 – 68 who have learning disabilities, autism and dementia. Our home was opened in the year 2000 and has individual rooms and excellent shared facilities, including a Snoozelem sensory room and personalized garden. These are multi-sensory environments used to promote relaxation and stimulate mental engagement and communication skills.
Staff are on hand 24 hours a day to support customers with all aspects of personal care including bathing/showering, washing and dressing and supporting customers with administration of medications. We support customers to take part in a range of activities of their choice. This ensures that they lead fulfilling lives. Customers are also supported to maintain relationships that are important to them. We provide care and support to customers in accordance to their preferences, interests, aspirations, wishes and diverse needs. We also encourage customers to make choices and decisions in their everyday lives, increasing their confidence and also their independence.
Staff at Ipstones Avenue are committed to providing a person centred service for all customers. We aim to support customers to have a fulfilled life of the best quality by supporting them to lead the life they want whilst encouraging their individual strengths and supporting them with activities that build on their lives. Ipstones Avenue is in the area of Stechford in Birmingham, West Midlands and is within a quiet cul-de-sac. There is access to a variety of shops including a barbers shop, a local church, park and a retail park which are all a short walk away. These local amenities allow customers the opportunity to develop important life skills and improve their independence on a daily basis as active members of their community, increasing self-esteem and confidence. Our scheme has access to its own transport which helps keep customers who are unable to use public transport involved with their local community and various activities. The doctor’s surgery and dentist are also within reach.
Silver Birches is a residential care home for older people. A residential care home provides accommodation, meals, and personal care. Personal care can include such things help in getting up or going to bed, eating, washing, dressing, and taking medication.
A wide range of services are also available to help you access services and facilities within the local community so you can lead the life you want to lead. Although staff provide care 24 hours a day, everyone who lives at Silver Birches are encouraged to be as independent as possible, and to see Silver Birches as their own home. Silver Birches is a purpose-built residential care home for older adults set in the Chelmsley Wood area of Solihull. We are situated in a residential area, with access to a wide range of facilities such as shops, library and GP surgery.
West Avenue is in the area of Castle Bromwich, Birmingham and is within a pleasant secluded residential area.
West Avenue is a residential service for Adults with Learning Disabilities; it is a 3 bed bungalow which provides accommodation for 3 male customers – all with severe learning disabilities, autism and challenging behaviour. We support customers with all aspects of personal care including bathing/showering, washing and dressing and support customers with administration of medication. Staff encourage customers to be as independent as they possibly can and promote this at all times.
We aim to have a wide range of activities going on at the service and in the community. Activities are often spontaneous and based on the customer choice although we do have a 4 week activity plan which is completed by our in house activity coordinator on a monthly basis. Our activity plans are done for each customer on an individual person centred basis, consisting of activities and hobbies that the individual likes to do.
At West Avenue the aim is for the customers to have a good fulfilled quality of life building on their individual strengths and maximising customer independence. Staff encourage the customers to:
