Christa Monkhouse (Swiss/Austrian) is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Elder Care with extensive experience and practice in change management in health care, quality assurance and continuous quality improvement and innovation. Pioneering work as the Eden Alternative regional coordinator for Europe includes:

  • Speaking about culture change in long term care in conferences (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK, Canada, USA, Scandinavian countries and Japan)

  • Consulting on how to adapt the Eden Philosophy to a local and specific culture

  • Teaching the Eden Philosophy in three or one day courses all over Europe

  • Publication of case studies, articles in professional journals and a book (in German and English)

  • Speaking and presenting in meetings of interested parties on how they can change their existing culture

  • Close cooperation with the Eden Headquarters in New York, USA

  • Evaluation of impact of culture change in individual nursing homes in cooperation with researchers
